AMTNJ has annually presented a High School Mathematics Contest. Schools register their math teams and information and the actual tests are sent to the school. Everyone competes on the same given day and all results are mailed back to AMTNJ. The contest is usually held during the first week of December. In 2008, 61 High Schools competed. Students and schools are awarded trophies and bonds. Look for information in early fall for next year's contest.

AMTNJ annual offers a button contest. Each year a specific theme and shape is designated. Have your students design a simple button that is catchy and creative! The winner will receive a grade appropriate calculator, and the student's mathematics teacher will receive a free registration to the annual AMTNJ 2-day conference.

Each year the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New Jersey (AMTNJ) presents a member of AMTNJ with the Max Sobel Award.

Each year the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New Jersey (AMTNJ) encourages members to sponsor a scholarship applicant. Scholarship applications are accepted throughout the winter months and the committee makes its final decisions early in the spring. Each application MUST have a CURRENT AMTNJ Member as his/her sponsor. (All memberships are checked). Applicants must also be applying to a college with Math Education as their career goal. An annual competition for all grade levels. Student-created mathematic projects are judged and prizes awarded for the best project in each grade level category. Students, teachers and parents are encouraged to view the display at the Annual Two Day conference. Information on the 2009 conference will be posted soon. Every March, AMTNJ sponsors an annual job fair in both northern and southern New Jersey. We open registration to all the New Jersey Schools and give them an opportunity to meet with interested AMTNJ members as well as their colleagues and new teacher graduates. Look for our 2008 fairs to be advertised sometime in January.
These grants are offered annually, but the deadline for each school year is Dec 31st
The purpose of the AMTNJ Mini Grant: .In order to assist local groups in meeting to discuss mathematics education issues or other activities designed to promote excellence in mathematics, AMTNJ has made available mini-grants in amounts up to $200 to support such activities. Annual mini-grants will be awarded for single or multi-district coordination activities as listed above. Funds will be distributed as applications are received until a total of $600 has been appropriated.
